Trafficked from a Texas Nightclub

Kelsey* was 19 when she tried to escape from her trafficker at a Texas nightclub. She tried to escape twice, but the trafficker forced her back each time.

But Kelsey did not give up. She tried once again, and this time, she was able to get in touch with an Atlas Free Network Member. They worked fast with local police to get her to a safe location right away. Within hours, they found the medication she urgently needed for a serious health condition, that her trafficker had been keeping from her. In the days that followed, Kelsey not only received services, but also loving care.

She cooked meals in the kitchen with staff, talked through her experience, and began going to church with them. When it was time for her to move into a longer-term shelter, the team helped arrange her travel, walked her through the airport, and stayed on the phone as she navigated unfamiliar streets in a new city.

Today, Kelsey is in a two-year rehabilitation program focused on healing and rebuilding her life. And she knows she is not alone. If she ever needs support, she can still pick up the phone and call.

When you give monthly to Atlas Free, you help provide emergency exits for women just like Kelsey. With strong support, she was able to escape her trafficker and relocate to immediate safety. You can be a part of that freedom with a monthly gift today.
